The Kinect time seems to have now ended and Microsoft announced its end, ending its production. Everyone knows Kinect and its capabilities, not only as an Xbox accessory but also as a research tool, to detect objects in a three-dimensional space and to create depth and 3D scenarios. There were several utilities that had and that were beyond use on the Microsoft console.
The end of Kinect
But the tech giant Microsoft decided to finish its production, thus dictating the end of Kinect and all future developments. The truth is that the company had almost abandoned it, having just renewed its image when it launched with the Xbox One. It was in an interview given by Xbox general manager Matthew Lapsen and Kinect creator Alex Kipman that the news was announced to the world. Kinect production is finished and this accessory will no longer be sold. Already with the arrival of Xbox One S, Kinect had been relegated to the background and was just a simple accessory. Kinect will continue to exist but in other ways The truth is that much of the path that the tech giant Microsoft has walked with Kinect is now being leveraged in other devices. HoloLens uses many of the Kinect technologies for depth detection, many cameras certified for Windows Hello use Kinect techniques for facial recognition and even some of the Kinect technology is used on the Windows Mixed Reality helmets. There is still another place where Kinect will continue to exist. In the tech giant, Apple’s iPhone X much of the technology used in Face ID comes from PrimeSense, a company the tech giant Apple bought and was the creator of the original Kinect. This will be a loss for the industry and for everyone who used Kinect. Despite its end, it will continue to be present in many forms, not only in the technologies it has brought but also in the very hardware it has advocated. So, what do you think about this?
