Recently, a Twitter user goes by the name Gustave M managed to get both Windows 10 (ARM version) and Windows RT running on Microsoft’s phablet Lumia 1520 which was once sold as the company’s flagship device. Well, a similar project also brought Windows RT running on a Lumia 950.
— Gustave M. (@gus33000) January 12, 2019 This is all possible because of Windows Phone Internals 2.3. Well, it also opens the door to a series of new projects, including what could be an improved version of Project Astoria. If we talk about the functionality of these devices, there’s not much to do on Windows phone with Windows 10 or Windows RT installed. The Lumia 1520 device running Windows 10 doesn’t get the touchscreen working, and even if it did, it’s hard to imagine that anyone could use it without a mouse and keyboard because the UI is actually not made for smaller displays with touch input. However, these type of projects indicates that there might be life for Windows phones. However, the bigger challenge is to run Android OS on Windows Phones. So, it looks like not everyone is ready to give up on Windows phones as fast as Microsoft did. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below?
