Customizing Hero Skill Trees in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope offers surprisingly strategic character builds that can alter how you approach a quest. The skill trees consist of four categories: Health, Movement, Weapon, and Technique. You can freely distribute the skill points in any way or you can leave it up to the game and auto fill skills by resetting your skill tree with X and auto filling with Y. Skill Points are earned by leveling up a character. Each level will provide you with one skill point so it’s important to enter some battles and gain experience points if you want to unlock more of your skill trees. Luckily, every character levels up at the same rate even if they were not used in battle, so you will never miss out on gaining skill points for each character. It is important to note that skills come at different costs. While the lower skills may only cost one skill point to unlock, you could cost four skill points to unlock. The max level in the game is 30 so you will not be able to unlock the entire skill tree and will have to pick a direction to focus on for each character.

How Skills Change Your Characters in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Health Skills will increase your maximum health points, recover more health after winning a battle, or increase how much health you recover when getting healed by a teammate or item. These skills are the same for each character but other categories offer character-specific upgrades. Movement Skills typically increase a hero’s movement range and glide time, but there are a bunch of character-specific upgrades as well. For example, Mario has the ability to stomp on enemies when gliding while Rabbid Peach can unlock multiple dashes to sweep through enemies. Every character uses a different weapon, so it is only natural that the Weapon skills offer a lot more variety. Many characters will have the option to increase the Weapon Damage, Critical Hit Chance, or even the Weapon Range, but others have completely unique techniques that can dramatically change how that character acts on the battlefield. Rabbid Mario’s final weapon upgrade gives him the ability to move after using the main weapon attack and this is unique because all other characters can no longer move after they’ve used their main weapon. You’ll find a wide variety of weapon-specific skills to experiment with for each character. Finally, the Technique category offers the most variety because this skill tree is specific to a character’s unique ability. Mario has Hero Sight, Peach has Team Barrier, Rabbid Mario has Counter, Rabbid Peach has Mega Heal, and Rabbid Luigi has Exhaust. All of the upgrades in this category will be specific to the character’s unique power. There is really a lot to experiment with as you play Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and the skill tree gives you a lot to customize and great ways to build out your party for the best strategies. That is everything you need to know on how to customize your hero skill trees in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
